PT Linus Airways, a recently established Indonesian airline, has signed lease agreements with BAE Systems Regional Aircraft for two BAe 146-200 jetliners. Delivery of the two aircraft (E2204 and E2210) will take place this summer.

PT Linus Airways, a recently -established Indonesian airline, has signed lease agreements with BAE Systems Regional Aircraft for two BAe 146-200 jetliners. Delivery of the two aircraft (E2204 and E2210) will take place this summer.

Linus, which is short for Lintasan Nusantara (bridge across the archipelago), has the aim to fill the air transport gap in the country between the existing legacy carriers, and the newly formed Low Cost airlines.

The airline was originally incorporated by Mr. Julius Indra in 2004 and subsequently sold to Indonesian conglomerate, PT Transpacific Securindo. Mr Indra remains a minority shareholder and Chief Executive Officer. He said today: “We are planning to offer services to eastern Indonesia which will make a major contribution to the economic development of that area. We look forward to commencing services soon with the BAe 146 which we have selected as the ideal aircraft to serve our routes.”

Linus’ planned network is predominantly spread across the less dense, less competitive eastern half of the Indonesian archipelago. All flights will originate from Jakarta and other hubs to destinations that will include Medan, Palembang, Pekan Baru, Batam, Semarang and Tanjung Padan.

Linus has positioned itself as a lower-cost service carrier and each aircraft will be equipped with 98 leather seats in a one-class configuration.

The two BAe 146-200s will be the first airline passenger versions of the BAe 146 family to operate in Indonesia. However, there are two executive versions of the aircraft operating in the country. A VVIP Avro RJ85 is operated by Pelita Air Service for the President’s Fleet and Metro TV/Eagle Aviation operates a corporate BAe 146-100.(baesystem.com)

Riau was founding base on 10th Consitution in 1948 about deviding Sumatera Island on three provincial. One of them is Central Sumatera Province which coordination West Sumatera, Riau and Jambi Residencial. The Riau people's aspiration that wants one autonomy region was discussing in some opportunities as:

October 17, 1954 founded Riau Youth Congress at Pekanbaru.
7th August 1955 founded First Regional Parliament Conference between 4 Regency in Riau Residential at Bengkalis.
7th September 1955 the delegation of Second Regional Parliaments of 4 Regency in Riau Residential was met the Ministry of Internal Country is Mr. R.Soenarjo that founded Letter of Description Number De/44/12/13/7 that contain "Thas problems will be sufficient attention and deviding Republic of Indonesia into some region of new provincial while planable."
9th September 1955 was founded Riau Provincial Preparing Contact Board at Jakarta.
22th October 1956, met of the figures of Riau Peoples with Ministry of Internal Country was Mr.Soenarjo. Assumption of him The Constitution of Riau Provincial Founding was pre preparing and will be proposing in Parliament Assembly in beginning of 1957.
Cabinet Assembly in 1th July 1957 was agreeing where Riau and Jambi to be provincial.
7th August 1957, The Constitution of West Sumatra, Riau and Jambi Provincial Establishment was agreeing by Parliament.
9th August 1957was constituting the constitution in Country Document number 75 with 19th Constitution in 1957 which fixing the First Swatantra Regional of West Sumatra, Riau and Jambi.
31th January until 2th February 1958 was founded Riau Peoples Congress.
Based on Letter of Decide of the President of Indonesia Republic number 256/M/1958, in 5th March 1958 the Governor of Riau Provincial was SM Amin was inaugurated. So, the First Swatantra Region of Riau Provine was legal.
20th January 1959 the Capital of Provincial was mutation from Tanjung Pinang to Pekanbaru based on Letter of Decide of Ministry of Internal Country number Des 52/1/44-25.
The Governor of SM Amin was changing to Kaharuddin Nasution was inaugurated in 6th January 1960 at Pekanbaru. (riau.go.id)
